Pepper Plants

A few weeks ago Amellia and I decided to try our hand at growing our own little vegetables. We went out to the garden centre with my mum and picked up an adorable little Elho starter kit, picked out some seeds and headed home to get planting!
The next morning when Dylan was enjoying his breakfast we got stuck in! She loved filling it up with the soil using her little spade and then getting her hands messy spreading it out!

img_3832That little face gets me every time ❤

She then had a lot of fun planting the seeds! She dotted them about randomly and thought it was great pushing them into the soil! She couldn’t quite understand why they hadn’t grown overnight though and wasn’t too pleased about having to wait!
Once they had started to grow you would have thought it was Christmas! She was so excited and couldn’t get over how cute they all were! She also had to give them a little reassuring tap when they broke through the soil!

img_4130-1I did try to tell her that it wasn’t really the greatest idea.. but she wanted to welcome them to the family and reassured me she was doing it gently! It took a while for more to appear and I was convinced that we were only going to get 5-7 plants.. We ended up with a whole army of them!
img_4706We have now planted them into separate little pots.. well two in each and so far so good! We have given four to my mum so that she can look after them and have her own peppers when they get big enough and next time we see my sister I am going to take some down to her too! But we will still have an awful lot of pepper plants if they all make it! Thankfully my hubby and I really like peppers!
If you live close by and fancy one let me know as we have lots to spare!

Treat Day!

We try to ensure that Amellia gets to go out at least once a month with one us to do whatever she wants. Sometimes she picks swimming, other times clothes shopping but something she always picks is to go out for dinner! She loves her food and unfortunately going out for dinner as a family is something that we don’t do very often at all as Dylan is not a good eater, and all the noises, bright lights, people and smells just send him into meltdown.
Before Dylan was even born this was something that we had decided we would make sure we did, I think its important for all children to get a chance to do whatever they want for a day, have all the attention on them and be made to feel as special and wonderful as they are!
It is even more important to us now with everything that we are going through with Dylan as I don’t want her to miss out on all the typical “kid” things that he wouldn’t particularly enjoy. I also don’t want her to grow up resenting her brother because she didn’t get to do things she wanted to because of him. We try our best to do things as a family but it is tough, and I don’t like taking her out and having to say her to her that if Dylan doesn’t like it we have to go. She is wonderful with him though because if I take them to the park and he starts to get  upset she will come over to me and say “ok mummy time to go!” As much as this is wonderful, it’s not fair on a five-year old.

On our day out she decided she wanted to start with lunch at Little Wing Pizzeria! What a wonderful little spot, I love it. I am simply a huge pizza fan and they make exceptionally delicious ones! When we sat down she was super excited to pick off the menu herself and then get to colouring it in! She chose the minestrone soup as she liked the sound of it coming in a cup! When it arrived it was super cute in a teeny tiny cup, and she dove right in. Unfortunately though she wasn’t a big fan of this soup but to make it an even better experience the girl serving us then got her dough sticks  instead which she quickly devoured! Not only was this fantastic customer service but when she brought her over the dough sticks she told Amellia that is was great to try new things and that she was a super girl for trying the soup!
img_4773
whilst we waited for our mains then we got a chance to colour in the menu, it was wonderful! They had little bits for you to draw what you thought certain things would eat and a picture for you to find other items in and colour them in, she had a lot of fun doing this and got really excited when she found the things we were looking for in the picture! She had lasagna for her main and she really loved it, she ate it all up and enjoyed it so much!

One of her favourite parts of the dinner was getting an ice cream and a little mini hot chocolate in another tiny little cup! Unfortunately I didn’t take any pictures of these but they were just adorable! She also loved the fact that she got to have coke with her lunch and thought it was super special that it was in a glass bottle and not a little plastic cup!
img_4764

She then wanted to do a spot of shopping, so we popped into a few of her favourite shops and picked up a few bits and pieces. We then headed home and told her daddy and brother all that we had been up to and how she can’t wait to go there again!

img_4798

Ohh, I forgot to also tell you how wonderfully delicious my dinner was from Little Wing too, one of my favourite things that they do is there spicy cheesy bread for starters! I then had one of their pizzas for main which was just super as always.. I can’t remember exactly what one it was..doh.. but I do remember that it was yummy! We will certainly be back soon, I can’t wait for my next day out with her.
She is simply wonderful and really does not get enough credit ❤

Do you try to take your kids out on their own if you have more than one?
What do they love to do?

Baby Wearing!

Who baby wears? I have recently discovered how amazing it is! For starters its like having a constant cuddle from you baby, Who doesn’t love that!? A few people on my birth board baby wear, so this is where I first really got the idea from seeing there pictures and thinking it looked great and babys all seemed so happy! Also with having a hyperactive three year old and a baby who has started to want to interat too.. its pretty tiring and hard trying to keep on top of it all! Having him in the baby carrier enables me to be able to do arts and crafts with her with both my hands, rather than having to help my little man sit up and try and help her.. which just doesn’t work! Now he is happy talking away to me in his carrier and feeling feathers etc, while I aid her in doing the task at hand!

Do any of you baby wear? Does it make your life easier and whih one do you us? Mine is a Connecta! I looked through all the designs that they had and instantly fell in love with one that was out of stock, I was rather disapointed and was sure no where else would have it.. but took to google and found it here! I was so excited that I Imediatly ordered it, I couldn’t have been more ipressed with how fast it was recieved!  I ordered it late on Tuesday night, so it was posted Wednesday and I recieved it today! (Thursday) and look at just how awesome it is!

How could I resist that awesome design right! I’m so in love with it and he is so happy in it! I know my love for it will just grow.. though im sure the hubby s hpoing it doesn’t grow too much so that I want another one ;] Another Connecta that is! Not another baby!

This is his cheeky little face ❤ he adores it! Well does so far ;]

I’ll keep you guys up to date with how we get on with it! I’m rather excited for the summer time and to be able to go out for walks and exploring with them both! Colleting leaves and the such for some art and the such!

Other baby weares, does he look like he is in it right? What type of expiditions have you done with your little ones in them? =]

WeeOhana .. excited for some adventures!

Project Life

I am super excited to start doing a Project Life folder. My sister (http://daydreamingfoodie.com) introduced me to it! She sent me a picture of her first page on whats app, and I instantly knew that I had to do this too! So last night I spent a lot of money buying all these awesome things to do this project life! I am now going to be eagerly awaiting the postman everyday for the next week to get all of my bits for it, then I can get started!

Basically its a thing where you can put pictures, quotes, anything at all that you can think of! I’m going to use mine for a bit o everything and to just keep memories in it, be it quotes, photos, flyers or anything at all!

I thought it would be a lovely thing to do, not only for myself but for my kids too, Whenever they are older they will be able to look through it and see all of the fun things that we did whenever they were little. I think that I am going to do a double page spread for ever month.. but knowing me it will probably end up being a double page for each week!

I got myself this pretty little pink 12″x12″ album, I am super excited for it to arrive, but knowing my luck all the other little bits will come first! Unfortunately I couldn’t order it all of the same website otherwise I would have and then I would know I could get started as soon as it arrives, though I suppose it is good it is all coming from different websites as it means that I can get new bits everyday in the post and enjoy the prettiness day by day rather than all at once!

I have ordered rather a lot of the little cards, because… well I just couldn’t help myself once i had seen all the beautiful options!! who could!

At this rate I’m going to need my own little study to put all my paper cutting things in and all this project life stuff that I have flying its way towards me in the post!

I’m really exited to be able to share my project life with you all whenever I have got it all and have made a little start! Do any of you do/have done a project life thing? I would love to see them if you have! Inspiration is always fab! Also what things would you guys recommend to make mine extra pretty or just things that you guys enjoyed using/putting in yours?

Marshmallows, frozen & sisterly love!

Today was a good day! My mum came and picked up my little one and took her to nursery so I got a bath and pampered myself slowly before going out to the shops with my wonderful sister! Everyone feels better after a little pampering! Especially after having been up in the night being sick and to my little one who was awake constantly.. Though I can’t blame her as it was rather windy and rainy outside so it probably woke her!

So after having a bath, putting on some make-up and some clothes that didn’t resemble pjs for the first time in a week I was feeling rather energised! So I took a few selfies as you do, and then my pain medication so that I could dander about the shops and not feel too much pain and could enjoy it! Here is how my selfie turned out;IMG_0073.JPG not to shabby with a bit of make up and a smile eh! (I jest of course!!)

Then my sister arrived, not only did she bring the happiness she always brings, she also brought with her some homemade marshmallows! They are so beautiful.. I had to hide them from the rest of my little family so they don’t get munched!! I cannot tell you have delicious they are and the picture really doesn’t do them any justice but wow… She’s one good baker! Everyone in my family bakes, we all seem to go through phases where we bake lots and then stop… Now I have had some of her marshmallows I’m so tempted to make my lovely fudge I made last year.. It was just loads of marshmallows melter together really! Sweet, sugary goodness! Here is some evidence of the marshmallows.. Before they all disappear! IMG_0072.JPG

So we then proceeded to go shopping… Well a dander about while gossiping about everything and anything Christmassy.. I think all we actually did talk about was Christmas and how super it is, admiring all the Christmas jumpers/pjs/gift sets .. And then we got to Primark … Now we aren’t really big Primark shoppers, but go in for a nosey most times and may get a few bits.. But today we saw the most amazing t-shirts ever!!
They had frozen T-shirts, yes you heard me right frozen T-shirts! No need to rush out and buy them, because much to my and my sisters disbelief people weren’t rushing over and grabbing them off the shelf! They had lots of them, though only one of just Olaf! Which j wasn’t best pleased about, but going to be going back to get one when they are in stock! So me and my sister both got one which has all of the characters on it, it is absolutely adorable and will go perfectly with a pair of skinny jeans! So after we got super excited about these wonderful T-shirts we managed to calm ourselves down and make our way around the rest of the shop.. To find more frozen T-shirts in tiny sizes! So I grabbed a few for my little one knowing she would love them, and yes she was super chuffed when I showed them too her and look mega cute! She is having a frozen bouncy castle for her birthday next month so these T-shirts were a must for that! Though I can guarantee they will be worn on many more occasions! (I will get a picture of us all in them soon for you guys to see!) We then carried on on our travels and picked up some bargains for my little one in other shops, like a little bee outfit, butterfly wings and so forth! What little girl wouldn’t love them! We had a pretty successful shopping trip, as neither of us went mad and spent loads, but we also got some awesome things.. Like frozen t-shirts!

After that we met my mum in the park with my little one, and she was delighted to see aunti Laura! She does love her aunti so much! My sister isn’t much of a child lover so to speak.. But I think she rather enjoys a couple of hours here and there with my little one as they are always laughing away and doing the most obscure things! My sister really is great and she never gets enough credit! I really did enjoy my day out with her.. Even though I am now suffering from walking about being dosed up on pain pills! We don’t ever really get much time just me and her as my little one is normally there… And if she is with us.. No one else gets to talk, about anything, unless your answering one of her 100000 questions!

So I think the next few days will have to be quiet ones again so that I don’t completely destroy my pelvis and so forth.. Joys! Have the physio tomorrow.. Though not sure how much good it is going to do as she has already told me “we can’t make the pain go away, just help you to deal with it” .. Just what every pregnant lady wants to hear! I have a bad feeling soon they are going to give me crutches… Which is great as will make it easier to get around.. I think! Though I’m not to sure how I’ll manage crutches and a little one!

My sister also blogs, and has been for a long time! She even gets paid for doing it and sent loads of cool things! So if you want to visit her blog, which I would highly recommend doing so it’s; http://www.daydreamingfoodie.com
Can you tell she loves food? 😛
Here’s a lovely little picture of her and my little one from today to end the post!
Hope your all well and enjoying my blogging – WeeOhana 🙂

Technology

“What shall we do tonight?” This seems to be a magical question my hubby asks me every night when the little one is in bed … My general reply is that I don’t mind… Mainly because there isn’t really too much we can do while sitting in the house that is overly entertaining! Generally it ends up with him playing the ps3 or us playing on some form of technology! He asks me like he expects me to answer with the most exciting idea, like ride a unicorn or something magical! We then end up passing the I don’t kind, you choose, what do you want to do type of conversation. Sometimes I find myself thinking on how I wish how we could just go for a walk, an ice cream, a meal, cinema, anything that can be spontaneously done. Unfortunately we as mums and dads know that really isn’t possible! I mean who can just leave a 2 year old up in bed while they head out for the night!

Technology is such a huge thing, I don’t think many people would know what to do without it anymore! It’s fantastic in some ways because yes the t.v lets everyone hear the news about places all over the world, let’s us contact our friends and family in times of need or just when we fancy a catch up! I can text my friend for example and within five minutes I will generally have a reply. Without technology that wouldn’t happen, unless of course we were face to face, which would probably happen more often than it does nowadays! In emergency situations or for organising things to do its great, but is also find people use it a lot more for gossip and general chat. I have started trying to when someone is to start a conversation with me via text is invite them over for coffee so that we can really chat and see each other, but generally people are too busy, working, or want to make plans for weeks in advanced! (Which at the moment with my baby brain are generally forgotten well before they actually happen!)

Technology is great in aiding children in learning, for example with watching videos or children doing these new apps. My little one has never had any interest in doing real puzzles and as soon as you help her to build one she is walking over it destroying it.. Pretending to be a dinosaur! I downloaded a puzzle app on my ipad for kids to just see how she took to it, she loves it and asks to play it on a daily basis! I say no and try to get her to do real puzzles, but she tells me they aren’t as fun. I try making all the noises that the app does and talking to her and asking her about the picture but yet still she isn’t satisfied! Give her my ipad and away she goes doing the puzzles on this app that I never thought she would have any interest in doing and will sit there for ages doing to them! Yes it is fantastic that she is now doing puzzles and ever so slightly starting to try to do real ones it makes me feel a little flawed as a mother! She would rated sit and use my ipad for them and not have to interact with me, then have me dancing about like an idiot, making all the noises and being fully Involved with her learning! On the plus side she is learning I suppose and I think technology is something that we all just have to accept nowadays as the norm and that it is the way forward! Obviously though I like to limit how long she uses it for, what for and so forth! Wouldn’t be too chuffed if she just sat and played game with no educational thing in them!

As I’m typing this I can see my hubby throwing his arm up and will more than likely complain soon about how the other team playing against him in his game “didn’t deserve that” or something along those lines! I always find it so funny when he gets angry at his games! He gets so worked up then like most people I suppose.. Complains that the game has been made harder etc! As long as he doesn’t launch the controller at the huge t.v we have then it’s all fun & game 😀

I think as mums we have to really embrace technology and try to keep up to date with the new things and what is what! On things that can help them educationally obviously and not just what game is next to be released and what everyone is playing! 😛 I dread to think how much technology there will be in the world when my little one is grown up or in school, but I’m going to be a mum to embrace this and accept change! 🙂
What do you think about technology? Lover or a hater?

Time to go and tell my little rascal to get back to bed!
Over and out; WeeOhana x
