We welcomed a new little addition to our family last week!
Every Lilo needs a Stitch and our Lilo is no exception, so everyone meet Stitch! =]
The cutest little bundle of fluff I have ever laid eyes on, she is a Cavachon which is a Cavalier King Charles x Bichon Frise. Toilet training is in the bag and she mastered it so quickly. I’m not sure if having an older dog here made it easier for her to pick up on but I was all ready for cleaning up puddles but have been extremely fortunate and not had to clean up many at all!
She has already mastered sit and down, one smart little pup at 9 weeks old. Lilo and her are getting on well too, it took a little while before they were pals but they enjoying licking each others faces now and cuddling up together on the sofa on the odd occasion. It will be great once Stitch has had her second injection to get them both out and about as I feel bad leaving Stitch behind when we head out.
Amellia totally loves her and keeps asking when she can have a sleepover in her bedroom, but evil mummy keeps telling her no. She is really excited to be able to take her out on walks and to the beach for her first time.
Dylan is completely besotted by her. Every morning he is charging downstairs to check she is ok, when he gets in from school he is checking on her and is always wanting to cuddle with her. It took a few days of being pretty stern with him on the lifting front, but he got it alright and every now and then he does try to lift her but he knows he is doing wrong as gives you that cheeky little grin. When she first arrived he always wanted to put a blanket over her to play but after repetition of showing him how we play appropriately with her with her toys he quickly picked it up and what really helped with this was taking him to pets at home and getting him to choose her some toys to play with with him.
I’ll be sure to keep you posted on how she is getting on, how her first walks go and what things she enjoys. I’ll also do a more in depth post soon about how we helped Dylan learn how to interact appropriately with her so that if you are in the same position as us it can hopefully help you too.
On mothers day we went for a lovely little walk around Londonderry Park. It is simply beautiful! Dylan fell fast asleep in the car on the way over though so he had a nice nap in the fresh air in his pram while we enjoyed exploring the world around us!
Londonderry Park is a lovely little park in Newtownards. It has a fantastic play park, football pitches, cricket nets and lots of other things along with a walk around the outside of the park which has some lovely flowers and lots of space to run in which my little girl just adores! She is very much an outdoors person!
We started off with the walk around the outside of all the things they have available there, she had great fun climbing up the trees and looking at the flowers! Which were in perfect bloom!
She then had to find a stick to have a battle with her daddy, she picked herself a lovely strong stick.. and he got stuck with a very febal one that broke quickly.. but who could say no to that little face!
After enjoying a great walk around, watching the planes that had just taken off above us and being bombarded with a zillioin questions about everything under the sun her and daddy headed off to play in the park while I walked a little further with a still fast asleep Dylan and a small and very fluffy dog! I thought she would be suitably tired after a big walk and a play in the park but nope.. she wanted to do the walk again, so off we went for a second time!
It was a lovely trip out, filled with lots of questions, play, laughs, running about and many reminders about why I just love being a mum. ❤
I have been spending a lot of time with my beautiful Meg ❤ It is really paying off, she is starting to do so super! Learning that she just can’t barge you out of the way, how to go around corners better, coming in without having to be chased for half an hour and that not everything in the world is super scary!
For a while there wasn’t any turn out at my yard so she was starting to get a bit wound up about being stuck in and was trying to see what she could get away with! Also her bed was always a mess.. trailing her hay through it! Though now she is a dream to muck out and is wonderful to ride! (Most of the time)
Isn’t she just simply beautiful? Definitely one of the best presents I have ever received! Thank you hubby! =D
Not only have I noticed huge improvements in Meg, I have also noticed improvements in myself. Massive ones. I enjoy taking the kids out by myself, I don’t worry about every little thing and lots more!
I am making new friends up at the yard and when I spend time with her; riding and lunging etc I have a huge weight lifted, without going into too much detail or blabbing on, she is really turning my life around! Quality time with me is fab, I’m not all that bad ;]
My other lovely fluffy beautiful girl in my life is also doing super!
Little Lilo isn’t quite so little anymore.. well she is still pretty dam small, but not the size of a rabbit anyway! The kids adore her and she adores them too most of the time! Her and my son really have a special bond and they will spend ages just sitting together while he strokes her! I’m always shocked by how he never really tries to pull on her fluff as she is just so dam fluffy!
This is her and my little girl enjoying a snuggle while she wasn’t feeling the greatest!
I just love animals! Especially fluffy ones, though I have never been a cat person always been more of a dog person!
Meet our beautiful new addition to our little family; Lilo!
She is just so beautiful, cuddly and adorable! We got her when she was 6 weeks old, the poor litter of pups got rejected by there mummy, so we took her on! She has her second injection tomorrow which I’m a little nervous about! As long as she doesn’t throw a strop with me about it then its ok! =]
She is called Lilo because well, we love Lilo & Stitch if you didn’t already know! 😛 She is a Jack Russell x something.. the vet thinks that she is a Jack Russel x Shih tzu! What is your guess? I just love her little floppy ears, her fluffiness, she is just so wonderful! She is so cuddly and just lovely with the little ones! In-fact, my little boy seems to be her most favorite person in the family! Anytime he lays down to go to sleep, she just cuddles into him and falls asleep herself! But look at how just adorable it is when they cuddle!
Eeek, aren’t they just the sweetest little things! Though she does have a lot of fun with my little girl too! In particular wasting a lot of energy running about the garden and playing tug of war in the living room! Though they both need reminded when it is time to calm down.. or they would run hyper all day and night!
Though they all do love a cuddle together so that is always a positive!
She seems to be getting a hang of the toilet training business, when she needs to do a poo she barks at you which is just fantastic.. wee’s well we are getting there! Not too many accidents and I am very proud of her! So I won’t do bad to that!
This is her most favorite way to sleep! Look how tiny she is! ❤ Though not to tiny to be a handbag dog! 😛 Fluffy, happiness and beautiful all in one little place!
Have you recently got a new puppy or got an older dog now with any magical advice that you have for me? =]
I am just loving having a little bundle of joy in my life! She is also fantastic company for me whenever the hubby is in work, aw she is just so cute & cuddly! =]
Shower me with pictures, advice and everything puppy! =D
