Garden & Park Fun!

img_8929
Dylan has recently got extremely good at writing the letter A, generally with both hands at the same time! As soon as he goes into the back garden he is looking for the chalk and tries to ensure that ever single gate panel has an A on it.
Amellia loves it when he writes the letter A, as she says that he is looking for her when he is doing it. I adore the fact that she is starting to enter his world and accepting that he interacts in other ways, and I for one will not be telling her that he just has a huge love for the letter A and writing it and that it doesn’t mean this!
He can also write a few other letters, but A is in a strong first place at the moment, along with his favourite colour; brown.

We all went to the park the other day and had such a lovely time, Dylan had me going down the slide and climbing up on the cargo net so that I could help him, well by help, he was clung to me like a limpet.. it made manoeuvering him to the slide pretty difficult but with daddy close by we made it safely!

img_8860
We then went on the swing basket, after a while I told Adrian that it was his turn!
Look at this beautiful capture I got! I love it!
Amellia snuggling into him with the most beautiful smile while she held his hand and him accepting it, Dylan playing with her hair and daddy with them both safely beside him with the most loving & happy smile on his face!
Perfection, the three most important people to me, all having a lovey time together and I have this wonderful snap to look back at and smile!
Though I must say I’m pretty jealous he didn’t snap a picture of me with the pair of them.. but he is a man, this is why woman take selfies, otherwise they wouldn’t be in any pictures with their kids! lol!

My Sunday Photo – 30.07

This week we have gone for several walks, explored a few different parks and Amellia has learnt how to ride her bike without stabilisers in two days!
One very proud mummy & daddy, and one very excited little girl to get a bigger pretty bike!

Here she is when we first took her stabilizers off with her daddy by her side to help her keep balanced and build up her confidence.. She was in fits of giggles the majority of the time, but she was getting so close! The next day she did it! =D

Here is Dylan enjoying the swing while she went off and practiced on her bike! He loves swings and would stay on them all day!

How was your week?
Are you having a lovely time this summer? =]

Garden Center & Play Park!

The other day we took the kids to the garden center to investigate the new play area, but we weren’t too sure what we would find! We were really shocked when we walked around the corner and saw the most wonderful little play area!
The first day we went was a weekend so we really didn’t stay that long as there was quite a few older kids and after Dylan being pushed twice I knew he was going to lose his rag soon and didn’t want to push him too far after having already had a good 30 mins playing and everyone else being happy! We let the kids choose one thing each on the way out as they had both been fantastic and who doesn’t like treating there little ones every now and then!

My little girl chose the unicorn and has named it..”Pink Fluffy unicorn, dancing on rainbow.” Not quite sure where she got the name from seeing as it isn’t even pink.. but as long as she is happy! She chose this unicorn as it is just like her little brothers rabbits that he takes everywhere! If we ever lost those rabbits there would be trouble! I am going to have to buy a few spare and swap them about so that he gets used to them.. I had intended for the second bunny to just be used at bedtimes.. but as time has progressed he has now taken a shine to them both. and he would take them everywhere if I let him!
Dylan chose the peter rabbit push along toy! As soon as he picked it up he wouldn’t put it down! I love the selection of toys and clothes they have at Donaghadee Garden Center, lovely little bits! =]

We headed back the next day as we knew there would be fewer people, or at least fewer big people with school being back! Dylan had so much fun!
We had a fantastic time! My hubby and I got a lovely little lunch, he had the stew and said it was phenomenal and I had a lovely painni! What was even better was that Dylan got to happily play while we got some food! He was so happy pottering about and exploring by himself!

img_3911

He loved this big wooden tractor a lot! You could pretend to drive it, climb all over it and move the gear stick! He had so much fun driving it, especially with our table where we were grabbing a bite to eat right beside it! He is very much a mummys boy at the moment and doesn’t like me being out of his sight! He even follows me from the living room to the kitchen!

It also has a lovely little wooden barn which has steps up one side with a little bit to explore up the top and then a slide to get down! You can also go under the barn too which Dylan enjoyed! He must have ran up the stairs then down the slide about 50 times in a row before he even started to tier!

img_3925

Another amazing thing that they have is a little ball shoot thing! You put the ball at the top and it rolls all the way down,he really loved this! So much so that I’m thinking of making one in my back-garden for him! Its a fantastic thing and so very simple to make as it is made using guttering!

I will be going back here many times, in-fact I think I am going to be a regular! A fantastic little place and undercover for Dylan to play in and quiet! It is also great because even though you get your lunch etc from inside the cafe it is closed off away from here so you aren’t worried about the noise etc annoying others who are eating!

Well worth a visit if you are ever near! =]

Blackberry Picking!

Today I had a lovely morning out with the kiddiwinks! We headed to a lovely little village called Groomsport! Its a little village by the sea, is very peaceful, beautiful and has many things my little ones love!

IMAG1680.jpg

We started off by going for a little walk along the front, counting the boats we saw, blowing the dandelions that we found and making lovely wishes, then we discovered a place that we hadn’t found before! A little National Trust walk called Ballymacormick Point, I don’t know how I haven’t found it before or walked along there before! It was wonderful and even more so because we found some ripe and very yummy blackberrys! My little girl loves all kinds of fruit and veg and was very excited to try some blackberrys that she had picked straight from the bush!

As we carried on our walk I had a hunt in my handbag and managed to find a little ziplock bag, my little girl jumped with delight at the thought of collecting some and taking them all home. We carried on with our walk and kept collecting them while we were discussing what to do with them, a little lady who walked past us stopped for a chat with us as my little one was eager to show her all that we had collected! She suggested that we could try making a pie or some jam and that was that we were settled on making some jam once we got home! (recipe) The hunt carried on and we came across a honey bee! (She loves bugs too :P)

The honey bee was collecting pollen and was fascinating to watch, we watched him as he went from flower to flower and she asked me question after question! She asked me so many questions that she didn’t notice her little brother stealing the bag of blackberries from her hand.. he then decided to squish them and she broke out in laughter as we watched all the juices in the bag go everywhere (thankfully not over anyone!)

We then turned back after picking some blackberries to make our jam and headed for the little shop to grab an ice lolly and a drink then on-wards to the wonderful little park! The park in Groomsport is wonderful, not only do you get to enjoy a lovely view while your little ones are enjoying themselves, a big and a small climbing frame and there are gates all around it so a little one cant wander off. Wandering off is my little mans favorite thing, he loves just tottering about and exploring and wouldn’t have much interest in the park so when it is just me with them both it is pretty hard for either to enjoy! With him not being able to escape and wander off it was perfect as he could just dander around the park while she had lots of fun on the climbing frame/swings etc! He then found his favorite thing and one of the only things he will play on in a park.. a bridge! He loves just walking back and forth across the bridges, he would happily do that all day long if you left him to it!

IMAG1712

After the park we headed to the little paddling pool and she had lots of fun running about in it as she had come prepared wearing some shorts! My little monkey man was safely back in his pram and enjoying the views and after that we headed home to make some delicious homemade blackberry jam! I’ll pop the recipe up shortly for if you fancy giving it a try! Here is the recipe! Very simple/fun and delicious!

Delamont Park

Today we had a lovely family day out, and you are from Northern Ireland or are over here visiting I really suggest visiting Delamont Park! It’s just a thirty minute drive from Belfast center and a five minute drive from Downpatrick It’s also a very affordable day out, we have found that many places you will go and visit cost rather a lot of money for a family of four to get in, but to get into Delamont Park was a tiny amount of £4. Which is amazing considering all that is there!

There are several different walks and are all sign posted and you also get a map whenever you go into the park which shows you where the routes go, how long they are and what you can find along the way! We opted for one of the shorter walks because we had the children with us, and we didn’t fancy having to carry little miss around the walk when her legs got tired! We went for the 4km walk, there are ones which are also shorter than this and also longer so there is a walk for everyone to do! The only thing I would say is that on the map you are given it doesn’t give you any sort of idea of the terrain, the path was excellent and very easy to push a pram along, though is very stony. I think having our baby jogger GT made it easier to push with the big wheels I’m not sure how easy a pram with slandered wheels would have been to push! My little girl found it a little difficult as a lot was uphill which we hadn’t really thought about, but she kept going with a bit of encouragement! She particularly loved seeing the sheep along the way and stopped at every one to try and entice them over with some grass..this didn’t go in her favor! Along the walk were some incredible views, and things to stop at. Several little stone beaches, a bird watching area, and many more but we were enjoying the walk so much we didn’t stop at these things, though I will make a point of ensuring we do this when we go back!

When we first arrived we started with our picnic, there was so many benches and open bits of grass to sit on so lots of space for whenever it is busy to enjoy you picnic without many around you! My little one was eager to sit on the grass and have hers, so this is what we did and had some lovely little sandwiches before we headed off on our adventure! #

After our walk we went on this wonderful little train which is designed to look like Thomas, it runs along a 1KM track and was really enjoyable! The little ones loved being on a train and really enjoyed it and I took in some of the wonderful views around while really cherishing the time we were spending together!

Next stop was the play park, what little ones don’t love parks right! Well this is one that is truly going to be enjoyed by any park lover. It is just wonderful, lots of wonderful wood climbing frames, slides, puzzles and much more. I really liked that they had a climbing frame for all ages! There was a big and a little one like you would find in more parks, but also a medium sized one too, which my little girl really enjoyed. She likes the big ones but wants you to go up them with her and with it being a bit busy, I wasn’t for climbing up with her and getting in the way of everyone! She went off and enjoyed the big one for a short while but wanted to play with her brother so spent a lot of the time on the little one with him, which was great as there was no one else on it! There was also a zip wire which she really enjoyed. As well as there being some great climbing frames/ balancing things/slides etc there was also a lot of open space to run about. My little boy really liked this as he likes to just potter about and explore the world around him rather than climbing on climbing frames and going on swings etc!

Beside the park there was also one of those metal gyms that are becoming increasingly popular, and there are also some of the single gym items placed along the walks too! Just in-case you were wanting to go there to jog/workout ..

We ended our day by then going out for dinner and coming home and having a lovely bath! Both the kids are now fast asleep in bed, and we are just about to settle down to watch a move! All in all we had a fantastic day and will be back to Delamont Park very soon; in fact we enjoyed it so much we are going to get the season pass so we will be visiting it many more times! I will let you know if we find anything else about in Delamont Park that we think is a must see while there.. but for now, you should really go there, enjoy the peace, views, beauty and nature. Oh & the park and the train if you have little ones with you!

Let me know if you go for a visit and what you think! =]

Crawfordsburn Country Park!

Recently I have decided that we as a family, will be going out more! As comical as that sounds, you sometimes get stuck in a rut of relaxing, seeing family and the such whenever you are all free. Though we need us time, time to spend doing fun things as a family, making memories, having fun and just enjoying being together! So every time the husband is off work, we are going to do something! Go for a walk, exploring, visiting fun sites! I am going to compile a list of things/places that I want to visit and each time he is off we are going to tick another one off! =] I will put the list up here whenever I have it sorted, and it may give you some ideas of what to do if you’re from Northern Ireland or if you come here on a visit!

The first place that we went to was Crawfordsburn Country Park. It is basically a lovely forest walk, and there is also a beach too, so its sort of like two things in one! If you explore deep enough into the forest you can find a waterfall. Where you park there is also a little visitors center, which on our visit had a great range of stuffed animals, information about sea pollution and little activities to do with the young ones! It was fab! They also had a lovely little cafe which we got some food in and it was rather delicious!

We didn’t get to explore deep enough to find the waterfall, but that is because we first of all went to a field in the park and she ran about like crazy there and then went to the beach! We went for a nice walk into the forest, but we couldn’t find the waterfall and by the time that we were on the right track (or at least we thought we were ;]) she was knackered.. and I was pretty hungry! My little man was also nearing his bottle time, so we headed to the visitors center & cafe. My little girl then got distracted by the activities and looking at the stuffed animals, there was also a badger den that you could crawl about inside! She was eager to do this, but not being very keen on the dark.. she asked daddy to go in with her.. which he did! It was comical to watch, but very adorable! He would do anything for her, and there special little bond is just wonderful! It always makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside watching them play together, run about, make up stories, cuddle and just be themselves with each other, its amazing! Something I was very worried my daughter wouldn’t get with a man, and now she has! :]

Dylan was in his carrier and loved looking about and seeing the world from a proper view! He was gurgling and smiling away, it was so nice that we could go to a country park, walk about the muddy path and the beach without worrying about navigating a pram! It felt great us all having fun, enjoying the fresh air, running about the beach without having to feel like one of us couldn’t be involved(well two really) because we had to stand with the pram!

After exploring the visitor center we then went and got a bite to eat, my little girl got a giant plate of chicken nuggets & chips, which I was surprised with how much she ate! Me & the hubby got fancy sandwiches.. which I must say were very delicious and some chips which were just yum! The little man… well obviously he enjoyed some milk!

So it was a fabulous day out all in all! Some lovely weather, tasty grub, exercise, fantastic company and bonding with my wonderful family! I do love them so much and they are just wonderful! I don’t tell them often enough! I really appreciate and enjoy days out! They mean a lot and bring wonderful happy memories with them!

Me & my wonderful pair! ❤

Marshmallows, frozen & sisterly love!

Today was a good day! My mum came and picked up my little one and took her to nursery so I got a bath and pampered myself slowly before going out to the shops with my wonderful sister! Everyone feels better after a little pampering! Especially after having been up in the night being sick and to my little one who was awake constantly.. Though I can’t blame her as it was rather windy and rainy outside so it probably woke her!

So after having a bath, putting on some make-up and some clothes that didn’t resemble pjs for the first time in a week I was feeling rather energised! So I took a few selfies as you do, and then my pain medication so that I could dander about the shops and not feel too much pain and could enjoy it! Here is how my selfie turned out;IMG_0073.JPG not to shabby with a bit of make up and a smile eh! (I jest of course!!)

Then my sister arrived, not only did she bring the happiness she always brings, she also brought with her some homemade marshmallows! They are so beautiful.. I had to hide them from the rest of my little family so they don’t get munched!! I cannot tell you have delicious they are and the picture really doesn’t do them any justice but wow… She’s one good baker! Everyone in my family bakes, we all seem to go through phases where we bake lots and then stop… Now I have had some of her marshmallows I’m so tempted to make my lovely fudge I made last year.. It was just loads of marshmallows melter together really! Sweet, sugary goodness! Here is some evidence of the marshmallows.. Before they all disappear! IMG_0072.JPG

So we then proceeded to go shopping… Well a dander about while gossiping about everything and anything Christmassy.. I think all we actually did talk about was Christmas and how super it is, admiring all the Christmas jumpers/pjs/gift sets .. And then we got to Primark … Now we aren’t really big Primark shoppers, but go in for a nosey most times and may get a few bits.. But today we saw the most amazing t-shirts ever!!
They had frozen T-shirts, yes you heard me right frozen T-shirts! No need to rush out and buy them, because much to my and my sisters disbelief people weren’t rushing over and grabbing them off the shelf! They had lots of them, though only one of just Olaf! Which j wasn’t best pleased about, but going to be going back to get one when they are in stock! So me and my sister both got one which has all of the characters on it, it is absolutely adorable and will go perfectly with a pair of skinny jeans! So after we got super excited about these wonderful T-shirts we managed to calm ourselves down and make our way around the rest of the shop.. To find more frozen T-shirts in tiny sizes! So I grabbed a few for my little one knowing she would love them, and yes she was super chuffed when I showed them too her and look mega cute! She is having a frozen bouncy castle for her birthday next month so these T-shirts were a must for that! Though I can guarantee they will be worn on many more occasions! (I will get a picture of us all in them soon for you guys to see!) We then carried on on our travels and picked up some bargains for my little one in other shops, like a little bee outfit, butterfly wings and so forth! What little girl wouldn’t love them! We had a pretty successful shopping trip, as neither of us went mad and spent loads, but we also got some awesome things.. Like frozen t-shirts!

After that we met my mum in the park with my little one, and she was delighted to see aunti Laura! She does love her aunti so much! My sister isn’t much of a child lover so to speak.. But I think she rather enjoys a couple of hours here and there with my little one as they are always laughing away and doing the most obscure things! My sister really is great and she never gets enough credit! I really did enjoy my day out with her.. Even though I am now suffering from walking about being dosed up on pain pills! We don’t ever really get much time just me and her as my little one is normally there… And if she is with us.. No one else gets to talk, about anything, unless your answering one of her 100000 questions!

So I think the next few days will have to be quiet ones again so that I don’t completely destroy my pelvis and so forth.. Joys! Have the physio tomorrow.. Though not sure how much good it is going to do as she has already told me “we can’t make the pain go away, just help you to deal with it” .. Just what every pregnant lady wants to hear! I have a bad feeling soon they are going to give me crutches… Which is great as will make it easier to get around.. I think! Though I’m not to sure how I’ll manage crutches and a little one!

My sister also blogs, and has been for a long time! She even gets paid for doing it and sent loads of cool things! So if you want to visit her blog, which I would highly recommend doing so it’s; http://www.daydreamingfoodie.com
Can you tell she loves food? 😛
Here’s a lovely little picture of her and my little one from today to end the post!
Hope your all well and enjoying my blogging – WeeOhana 🙂
