One of the best purchases.

Dylan uses his IPad a lot, and one of his favourite things to do with it is use the photo booth app. This is a preinstalled app on IPads that provides you with effects which change the colour or distort the image that the camera is showing. When we are out and about Dylan finds things really quite distressing unless he is viewing everything through his IPad camera or using the games on it as a distraction. Mainly though he is using the camera, so I decided that I would get him an actual camera and build on his interest and give him an aid to help him when out and about.

I spent an evening researching cameras and trying to find one that would be still fit for use after being dropped, bumped and handled by a clumsy 3 year old. After looking online I quickly realised that not very many people made cameras for young children and I could only find one that was in a rubberized and safe looking case, the Vtech Kiddizoom Duo . Vtech make a range of different cameras for children but this one looked perfect for my little man and after reading many reviews I couldn’t wait to purchase it.

I headed out to get it the next day because after looking up all about it and deciding it was the one for Dylan I found that it was in the sale at Argos, bingo! After purchasing it I then decided I would give it to him the next day when Amellia was in school so that she wouldn’t be pestering him.
The next morning I gave it to him and he loved it! He didn’t put it down all day and didn’t use his IPad once after being given the camera, which is incredible because normally we have to listen to the gummy bear song at least 30 times a day.

After I showed him how to add effects to the screen and change the colour he didn’t need much more help. I showed him the button to take pictures and how to change the camera from the front facing to the rear facing one but Dylan doesn’t tend to take many pictures he just likes to watch the world go by on the screen as it isn’t so overwhelming for him then.

A common complaint about the camera was that it took batteries and wasn’t rechargeable but to us this was actually a huge positive it means that no matter where we are we can take a spare set of batteries with us when we are out and about incase the others run out. My complaint would be that there are games on the camera, they are unnecessary to be on a camera. I have removed them from Dylan’s but he wasn’t using them anyway. The battery life has really impressed me. He has used it all day and I mean all day and it has only just came up with a low battery warning, my next purchase is going to be some rechargeable batteries so that we can always some in it and a charged lot in his bag.

Such a simple to use and perfect camera. I think it is one of the best if not the best thing that I have ever bought for Dylan.

Amellias Captures

While trying to do the never-ending task of a mum & sort out the house for what feels like the millionth time I came across a whole heap of cameras I had been hording.
They all worked perfectly, but had been added to the pile as I got a new one so some were pretty old! After sorting through them and getting rid of the ones which were pretty useless I found one that wasn’t too bad and decided that I would let Amellia have it to see how she got on.

I must admit I did expect to have a camera full of totally rubbish pictures and yes of course there was a few odd ones.. I even have odd pictures on mine but I thought they would outweigh the good but they didn’t.

There was a lot of random selfies, rather a few only had half her head in.. but they made me smile and she loved looking back through them and telling me why she took the selfie and where is was.

DSC02446.JPGSeveral of Dylan, because well.. she totally adores him.

DSC02450.JPGA few of views and the sky from our walkDSC02469 (2).JPG& this one that completely melted my heart. I was completely unaware that she was taking this and only when we came home and were looking at them did I see it. Look at how happy Dylan is with that perfect wee smile he has, along with his smile I actually like this picture of myself too. Maybe it’s because you can’t see my face.. but I totally love this picture. One I wouldn’t have ever got if I didn’t give her a camera.

Along with these pictures there was also several long videos of her waffling to the camera about what she could see out the window, what she was making with air dry clay, discussing the weather (Her favourite topic) and just general chit-chat.

I think she is at the perfect age now to have a camera, it will teach her responsibility along with capturing some awesome memories. After she has been using it for a while I’m going to get her a wee photo album so she can print out the ones that mean something to her and she can then write a wee bit about them and keep them safe to look at whenever she wants.
I cant wait to see what other things she captures and will do another post in a while once she has been out with her camera again.

I have given her an Instagram account obviously on my phone and she will only use when beside me and i will monitor and all that jazz. But thought it would be perfect for her to get her pictures somewhere to look back at easily and write her own wee description! If you wanna see what she snaps in the future head over to it here and give her a follow!

My Sunday Photo – 07.01.18

This week has been spent really enjoying time with my kiddos before my little girl had to start back to school.
She can’t wait to go back on Monday with her new hair cur, looking far too grown-up for her own good!
Something about haircuts always makes kiddies look so grown up!
IMG_2113.jpgDylan is going to really miss his sister and I’m really worried its going to set him back again, but we just have to roll with the punches!

Project life, January

I made a start on my project life the other day … and my oh my, isn’t it addictive! I now have about 10000 bits of card laying about the house in two different sizes and many different patterns.. and I still want to buy more! They are just all so dam adorable, cute or beautiful that it is to hard to resist! At least I have my sister to swap the with .. it reminds me of when we were younger and we used to collect trading cards and you would swap them with your friends a siblings!

This is my album which I got from here. They have a great selection of albums, but my favourite was;

IMG_0281

I ordered my cards for in it from amazon and ebay … just be carful when looking on these sites for them, it is far too addictive and they are all just so pretty and lovely! I already have more coming in the post, but this is my collection already, which I think could fill several folders with!

IMG_0282

So I did my first page and my January page the other day… I never realised quite how many pictures I took.. trying to choose just a select few was a pretty challenging task! Though it was really nice to look back through all my pictures from January and pick a few! I always take loads of pictures but would only really look through them whenever I took the notion or remembered a moment and wanted to have a nosey at what pictures I had took!

For my first page, well here is a picture;

IMG_0277

Just plain and simple really I suppose, has 2015 as that is the year and I plan to do these for a good few years so thought that would be nice and easy to see which is which. the quotes around it is because well, so that it reads “hello 2015, you are simply wonderful”.. I know 2015 is going to be wonderful because I have my perfect little family and I can’t wait for my little man to start to grow & learn, My little girl is going to love whenever he can sit up, play, laugh and everything else that little ones do! A quote from Winnie the pooh

You’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.”

I love this little quote and I think it rings true for most people, so its a little feel good quote thats at the front! The pictures are; my whole little family being silly & beautiful as always! Then my two precious little ones who are crazy in love, I couldn’t do this without them, they are just fantastic! ❤

My second page, which is for January & is a double page which I will be doing for each month, or special days etc;

IMG_0279-1

So obviously, includes pictures from January which include; Charlie Simpson, Me & one of my best friends, my family and so forth! Just pictures that I took in January that made me giggle and had plenty of happy memories along with them! Also a little card where i have written what we did & what the pictures are linked too etc! =]

I hope you guys like them! Do you guys have any pictures of your project life you would like to share? what do you think about this blog post? Like it or lump it? Be honest ;]

Project Life

I am super excited to start doing a Project Life folder. My sister (http://daydreamingfoodie.com) introduced me to it! She sent me a picture of her first page on whats app, and I instantly knew that I had to do this too! So last night I spent a lot of money buying all these awesome things to do this project life! I am now going to be eagerly awaiting the postman everyday for the next week to get all of my bits for it, then I can get started!

Basically its a thing where you can put pictures, quotes, anything at all that you can think of! I’m going to use mine for a bit o everything and to just keep memories in it, be it quotes, photos, flyers or anything at all!

I thought it would be a lovely thing to do, not only for myself but for my kids too, Whenever they are older they will be able to look through it and see all of the fun things that we did whenever they were little. I think that I am going to do a double page spread for ever month.. but knowing me it will probably end up being a double page for each week!

I got myself this pretty little pink 12″x12″ album, I am super excited for it to arrive, but knowing my luck all the other little bits will come first! Unfortunately I couldn’t order it all of the same website otherwise I would have and then I would know I could get started as soon as it arrives, though I suppose it is good it is all coming from different websites as it means that I can get new bits everyday in the post and enjoy the prettiness day by day rather than all at once!

I have ordered rather a lot of the little cards, because… well I just couldn’t help myself once i had seen all the beautiful options!! who could!

At this rate I’m going to need my own little study to put all my paper cutting things in and all this project life stuff that I have flying its way towards me in the post!

I’m really exited to be able to share my project life with you all whenever I have got it all and have made a little start! Do any of you do/have done a project life thing? I would love to see them if you have! Inspiration is always fab! Also what things would you guys recommend to make mine extra pretty or just things that you guys enjoyed using/putting in yours?
