Our New Addition!

We welcomed a new little addition to our family last week!
Every Lilo needs a Stitch and our Lilo is no exception, so everyone meet Stitch! =]
img_9144The cutest little bundle of fluff I have ever laid eyes on, she is a Cavachon which is a Cavalier King Charles x Bichon Frise.  Toilet training is in the bag and she mastered it so quickly. I’m not sure if having an older dog here made it easier for her to pick up on but I was all ready for cleaning up puddles but have been extremely fortunate and not had to clean up many at all!

She has already mastered sit and down, one smart little pup at 9 weeks old. Lilo and her are getting on well too, it took a little while before they were pals but they enjoying licking each others faces now and cuddling up together on the sofa on the odd occasion. It will be great once Stitch has had her second injection to get them both out and about as I feel bad leaving Stitch behind when we head out.

Amellia totally loves her and keeps asking when she can have a sleepover in her bedroom, but evil mummy keeps telling her no. She is really excited to be able to take her out on walks and to the beach for her first time.
Dylan is completely besotted by her. Every morning he is charging downstairs to check she is ok, when he gets in from school he is checking on her and is always wanting to cuddle with her. It took a few days of being pretty stern with him on the lifting front, but he got it alright and every now and then he does try to lift her but he knows he is doing wrong as gives you that cheeky little grin. When she first arrived he always wanted to put a blanket over her to play but after repetition of showing him how we play appropriately with her with her toys he quickly picked it up and what really helped with this was taking him to pets at home and getting him to choose her some toys to play with with him.

I’ll be sure to keep you posted on how she is getting on, how her first walks go and what things she enjoys. I’ll also do a more in depth post soon about how we helped Dylan learn how to interact appropriately with her so that if you are in the same position as us it can hopefully help you too.

Pure Pet Food Review

Recently I was offered the chance to review some dog food for Pure Pet Food. I jumped on the chance as its pretty difficult to find food that sits well in Lilo’s tummy. When we give her treats that most dogs would love, she ends up throwing up and well.. this isn’t fun for her, or for us having to tidy it up! I am also aware that many dog foods on the market are full of things which aren’t too great for dogs! When I saw the list of  ingredients in this dog food, and that it was made in a human food facility, I couldn’t wait to give it a shot with our little pup!

We were sent the Turkey Terrific super sensitive food to try, when a small box arrived on my door step I was surprised. I wondered how I would be able to get even a few meals out of this to see what Lilo really thought or how it sat in her stomach.  I could not believe it when I opened the box. The food is dehydrated and this tiny little box makes up 2kg of food, I couldn’t believe it! The ingredients in the recipe are; 3 1/2 Turkey Breasts, 4 1/2 Parsnips, 1 1/2 potatoes, 125g Green Beans, 1/4 cabbage, 1/2 apple, 1 bunch of carrots and 200g of beef liver, and that’s it! How wonderful, all proper things that you and I would eat! To make it up you add the right amount of scoops of powder into the bowl for your dog’s weight and then some hot water, then  for the hard part for you dog… you have to leave it for 15 minutes to re-hydrate!

Lilo wasn’t too pleased with the whole waiting thing! She was jumping about and looking at me like I was mad with her bowl sitting on the counter. When I put it down she was a little confused, and wasn’t too sure on the whole thing, but tonight she had her last bowl of it and thoroughly enjoyed it! Though I now need to get anti-slip bowls.. by the time she had finished her dinner she had pushed the bowl all over the kitchen trying to get every last bit! When I first gave it to her I was worried about how I would keep all the dehydrated powder in the bag, but with a little look in the box I found that they also provided a little clip to keep the bag closed! Wonderful!
Pros: It doesn’t take up a lot of room as the box is so small for such a large amount of food, full of goodness and Lilo really enjoyed it!
Cons: Your dog has to wait a little which is not very fun for them!

The treats were absolutely amazing, I for one, always find that dog treats always have this horrible distinctive smell to them which I can’t stand, but these ones were just amazing. They smelt so incredible and again were just full of goodness! I gave them to Amellia so that she could give Lilo one or two.. as soon as she opened the pack she smelt them and said “Wow mummy these smell so good, I think humans can eat them too!” I then had to tell her no, they were just for Lilo, before she decided to sit down with Lilo and share them out!
Pros: They smelt amazing and were thoroughly enjoyed by Lilo!
Cons: My daughter wanted to eat them too!

Nursery, Toddler & Puppy!

Hello you lovely people who visit my blog! =]

Woohhoo I have been blogging for one year today, I started this last year!
Thank you for everyone who has followed me so far and I hope you enjoy it! =D

This past month has been crazy, my little girl has started nursery, my little boy is trying really hard to walk, I have started a new venture, puppy training and all the other things that come along with life! I’ll fill you in on the exciting bits! =]

Nursery.. it’s a bit strange at the moment as they are starting them very slowly! So much so that she has told me that it is boring as they don’t have enough time to do anything and they just do story time. I do think that half an hour is not long enough at all for them to settle. I think it would be better if they were in everyday and build the hours up. She is in random days at the moment and doesn’t have a clue if she is coming or going! Thankfully they do start a bit more normal soon, so I’m sure she will love it then! She just can’t get her head around when is going! I am excited for it to start normally, though I do wish she had got a morning place as it would make it a lot easier to get up and go out. It would also mean that you could actually do something else with the day!

My little man is very eager to walk, so eager actually that he will let go of the sofa at the edge move his foot then fall flat on his face! He just needs to get the balance down! I can’t believe that he is nine months old now! It seems to have gone a lot quicker with him than it did with my little girl, though I am going to thoroughly enjoy spending 1-1 time with my little man! Not sure he is going to enjoy it quite as much as I do though.. he spends his days following his big sister, watching everything she does and stealing her food!

Puppy training is going well! She very rarely has accidents during the day now, and when she does it generally is my own fault as I haven’t picked up on her little hints! She loves going for walks and is perfect on the lead and walks happily by your side.. untill she sees another dog or human! But thats just normal, she also is learning the basics very quickly! I am taking her to a puppy class which is one day a week for an hour for five weeks. It is really good! It is more just for the tips and to be reminded of what is sort of the obvious really! It’s great though as she gets socialized with the rest of the dogs that go and she gets to see lots of new people!
Pictures of her first visit to the beach to make you smile! 😀

Have you ever took a puppy to puppy classes? Did you find them helpful!
How are your little ones settling into school now?
Anything exciting to share?

I’m going to do another post now about my new venture! Eeek.. it’s exciting! =D

New Addition!

Meet our beautiful new addition to our little family; Lilo!
She is just so beautiful, cuddly and adorable! We got her when she was 6 weeks old, the poor litter of pups got rejected by there mummy, so we took her on! She has her second injection tomorrow which I’m a little nervous about! As long as she doesn’t throw a strop with me about it then its ok! =]

She is called Lilo because well, we love Lilo & Stitch if you didn’t already know! 😛 She is a Jack Russell x something.. the vet thinks that she is a Jack Russel x Shih tzu! What is your guess? I just love her little floppy ears, her fluffiness, she is just so wonderful! She is so cuddly and just lovely with the little ones! In-fact, my little boy seems to be her most favorite person in the family! Anytime he lays down to go to sleep, she just cuddles into him and falls asleep herself! But look at how just adorable it is when they cuddle!

Eeek, aren’t they just the sweetest little things! Though she does have a lot of fun with my little girl too! In particular wasting a lot of energy running about the garden and playing tug of war in the living room! Though they both need reminded when it is time to calm down.. or they would run hyper all day and night!

Though they all do love a cuddle together so that is always a positive!
She seems to be getting a hang of the toilet training business, when she needs to do a poo she barks at you which is just fantastic.. wee’s well we are getting there! Not too many accidents and I am very proud of her! So I won’t do bad to that!

This is her most favorite way to sleep! Look how tiny she is! ❤ Though not to tiny to be a handbag dog! 😛 Fluffy, happiness and beautiful all in one little place!
